While much of the country has been plunged into a bitter winter, there are some areas of the country working in muddy and swampy conditions. Hart is no stranger to providing or delivering fuel to hard-to-reach places, and this job was no exception.
Preserving Nature and Restoring Beauty
This job was located in a swampy area inside the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge in Philadelphia, PA, a network of lands set aside for the benefit of native wildlife and plants. Normal fuel trucks may have had trouble reaching the location, but because of Hart’s experience with these hard-to-reach areas, our team was called into action.
Established in 1972, this refuge protects habitat for the benefit of both people and wildlife. Our team was excited about the opportunity to observe hundreds of species of plants, trees, birds, insects, and mammals!
Important Work
With over 145 acres of wetlands (the largest marsh in Pennsylvania), it is essential that these habitats are maintained to protect the species living there. In addition, the Refuge provides trails and natural lands for people to enjoy. Hart was proud to be a part of the restoration and improvements of this area by providing on-site fuel cubes and fuel delivery during the project.
